How We Review Information
TelecomHub publishes practical information about broadband, Wi-Fi, mobile connectivity and related technology.
Because provider services, network conditions, devices and software can change, we use a review process intended to keep important information useful and accurate.
What we check
Depending on the article, we may review:
- Provider-specific service information
- Troubleshooting instructions
- Device or router behaviour
- Network and connectivity terminology
- Links to official provider information
- Dates and details that may change over time
Not every article requires the same level of review. The review process depends on the subject and how quickly the information can change.
Provider information
When an article discusses a specific provider, such as O2 or Sky, important provider-specific information may be checked against appropriate official sources.
This can include information about services, support procedures, settings, network features or troubleshooting guidance.
Official provider information is used as a source for verification where appropriate; TelecomHub does not present itself as an official provider support service.
Troubleshooting information
Troubleshooting steps are arranged to give readers practical options before more advanced actions are suggested.
We aim to distinguish between:
- Simple checks
- Device or connection troubleshooting
- Settings changes
- Actions that may reset or remove configuration
- Situations where contacting the provider may be appropriate
Instructions that could cause loss of settings or other significant changes should be identified clearly where relevant.
Updating information
Information may be reviewed when:
- A provider changes a service
- A device or software version changes
- A troubleshooting procedure becomes outdated
- A reliable correction is reported
- A significant change affects the usefulness of an article
Where appropriate, an article may display an updated or verified date.
Sources
Where sources are important to understanding or verifying an article, they may be listed in the article’s sources or verification notes.
We aim to use reliable sources appropriate to the subject, including official provider documentation where relevant.
What we do not claim
TelecomHub will not claim that:
- We performed testing that did not take place
- An article was professionally reviewed when it was not
- A device or service was personally tested when it was not
- We have qualifications or credentials that we do not hold
- A provider has approved or endorsed our content when it has not
We believe being clear about what has and has not been verified is important to maintaining reader trust.
Independence
TelecomHub is independently owned and operated by Stuart Harris in the United Kingdom.
TelecomHub is independent from O2 and Sky and is not an official support service for either provider.
